The exotic beach of Falassarna

Ancient Falassarna
Ancient Falassarna is one of the most important archaeological sites in Crete. It was an important port city in the Bronze Age and early Iron Age, and home to a number of important buildings and temples. The site is on the west coast of Crete. And is currently under excavation by a team of archaeologists from the University of Crete.
The story of the city of Ancient Falassarna starts in the Bronze Age, around 1600 BCE. Due to its strategic location on the west coast of Crete, quickly becomes an important port city. Also the city has a number of important buildings and temples. One of them is the Temple of Poseidon, which dates back in the early Iron Age. The site was abandoned in the late Iron Age, around 1100 BCE, and has been uninhabited since then.
The archaeological site of Ancient Falassarna is currently under excavation by a team of archaeologists from the University of Crete. They have revealed a number of important artifacts, including a number of statues and inscriptions. The site is open to the public, and is a popular tourist destination.
